Cycling holidays

Cycling through our region of the Carladez, you will find a variation of countryside to enjoy which will take you through small hamlets and villages, lakes and rivers, mountains and valleys. Here are some options whether you bring your bike with you or would like to rent locally.

 

Local bike rental

There is a choice of adult road bikes and mountain bikes as well bicycles for children from 4 up to 12 years old. Helmets are provided and there are adult and child group rates available on request, depending on model and duration of use.

Bringing your own bike?

La Grange offers you an ideal base for your cycling holiday. Your bikes can be stored securely indoors,  a power wash and tools are at your disposal.

Our area, the Carladez, has been given the ‘tourist cycling town’ label by the French Cycling Tour Federation (FFCT). Carladez is wonderfully suited to cycling tours, offering well-kept and often empty roads taking you through exceptional landscapes and the area’s rich heritage. Enjoy the lakes, dams, gorges and castles, and cycle through charming villages, where you can take some time out for refreshments.

There are many cycling routes to enjoy with difficulty levels specified in each route Routes can be downloaded in GPX format for use with your mobile phone and GPS units. Free hard copy versions are available at La Grange and also from our local tourist office.

Cycle clear roads and pass through beautiful villages like Valon.
The routes are all sign posted in the villages for easy navigation.

Off road

For mountain bikers amongst you there are 15 trails of various levels, ranging from an hour and a half to half a day in length. Trails can be combined for those who want a longer route.
